Area restaurants and other organizations spend hours at Clinton Square preparing their creations in hopes of capturing a cash prizes in both events of $400, $200, $100 a plaques and the bragging rights to having the best chili or chowder in town. As the cook-off wraps up, samples are collected from each competitor for judging by a panel of celebrities. This is followed by a free public tasting at approximately 2:30pm in which people can vote for their favorites for the People’s Choice Award.
