Saturday, February 14th:
Central Branch, 11am; Toddler’s Tango – Creative music and dance for your little
ones.They’ll be having fun while also improving self-confidence and brain development.
Beauchamp Branch, Noon; Rendezvous with Sankofa Piece Makers (For Ages 12-19)
Members of Sankofa Piecemakers will demonstrate the basics of quilt making. Come
and be a part of the fun.
White Branch, Noon; Animal ABCs. The Rosamond Gifford Zoo presents an exciting
hands-on literacy series featuring live animal visitors, touchable animal artifacts,
refreshments and lots of silly zoo fun. The program builds on the Imagination Library
Project that is geared toward children from birth to age 5 and their parents.
Betts Branch, 2pm; Anti-Valentine’s Day Party for Teens – Come create the perfect
Anti-Valentine’s Day card and enjoy some broken hearted snacks with your friends!
Guests are invited to wear black.
Beauchamp Branch, 2pm – 3pm; Happy Valentine’s Day. Make a special craft to
celebrate the day of love. Ages 5 and up.
Hazard Branch (1620 W. Genesee St., 435-5326), 2:30pm; Happy Black History
Month, Valentine! join Miss Maggie to make Valentine’s Day greeting cards and signs
to honor famous Black Americans. Have fun creating your greetings in the Hazard
Paper Makerspace with paint, crayons and more! For ages 5-12.
