LAKE EFFECT HALF-MARATHON AND FREE MOOSE MILE FUN RUN – 10:00am; Onondaga Lake Park. Featuring a flat 3.3 mile out and back, spectator friendly course which is run twice to get to 13.1miles. Runners can the event as a tune-up to check on fitness level for other goal races in spring or summer such full marathon or the Syracuse 70.3 Ironman on June 23. The Half-Marathon is sold out, but please get on the waiting list for 2014. Registration is FREE and open for the Moose Mile fun run. The event website is www.lakeeffecthalfmarathon.com. Proceeds from the race will benefit Ophelia’s Place, a 501-c-3 charity based in Liverpool, NY that supports people dealing with eating disorders, disordered eating and body image issues.
