Chowder Cook-Off Feb. 20th

The event has been moved indoors and turned into a WALKING EVENT.  Area restaurants and other organizations spend hours preparing their creations in hopes of capturing a cash prizes in both events of $200, $100, $50 plus plaques and the bragging rights to having the best chili or chowder in town. The cook-off walkers will start at 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Samples be judged by you and votes turned in at participating locations. The Cook-offs   are presented by the Updowntowners of Syracuse, Inc. CHOWDER COOK-OFF – Noon 4pm. Winterfest’s long-time event has been reinvented this year into a walking tour that pits area restaurants and others against each other to see who has the best chowder in CNY. Patrons purchase a ticket for $5 at Marriott Syracuse Downtown Hotel Enter the Conference Center Doors on E. Onondaga St. the day of, or presale at participating locations which allows them a sample each recipe and vote for the winner. Participating establishments: Clinton Street Pub, Eleven Waters, The Fish Friar, Soup R Salads, and Talking Cursive.
