ROCK CLIMBING FEBRUARY VACATION PROGRAM – 9am – 2pm; Central Rock Gym, 600 N Franklin St, Syracuse. Plan a fantastic winter experience for your child! Striving to create a safe and fun climbing environment for all skill levels, our weeklong youth vacation program offers new climbers a great introduction to the sport and returning climbers a great way to further their climbing experience. For ages 8-12. Pricing for all 5 days: Pricing: Non-Member: $385 for 1st child ($335 additional siblings) Member: $335 ($285 additional siblings) – Participant must be the member to get the discount! Frozen and terminated members do not qualify.

WINTER VACATION CAMP – 9am – 3pm; Beaver Lake Nature Center, 8477 East Mud Lake Road, Baldwinsville. Learn how to Snowshoe! Build a survival Snow Cave! Create incredible Snow Sculptures! Play fun Nature Games and make Nature Crafts. This Winter Camp is designed for 1st – 4th graders and is led by two staff naturalists. This is great way to spend the winter break! Road, Baldwinsville. The answer to cabin fever during the school winter break – guided snowshoe walks and critter talks daily for families and individuals. Walk down one of the Nature Center’s trails tracking winter wildlife. Learn about beaver, turtles, owls, or other wildlife in the Visitor Center. Baltimore Woods Nature Center
Tuesday, February 21 EDATOR vs. PREY – 9am – 4pm; Baltimore Woods Nature Center, 4007 Bishop Hill Rd., Marcellus. It’s a real winter whodunit animal mystery in the woods! Look for clues, follow tracks, ask probing questions and get to the bottom of things. Grab your magnifying glass and become an official Baltimore Woods Crime Scene Investigator! Foray into Fiber Arts
Kids are invited to join artist, Carrie Drake, for a week of experimenting with fiber. We will explore wet felting as we make board games out of wool. We will paint scenes with yarn. We will turn food into stamps. Weaving, dyeing, spinning, sewing, punch needle, embroidery, and painting are just a few examples of ways to create art with fiber. We will investigate all of them as we create our own unique works of art!
Carrie Drake is a mixed media artist. She blends traditional fiber art techniques while experimenting with material to create works about nature. Carrie also teaches art and science at the Montessori School of Syracuse. Her passion is to work with kids to explore their creative, inventive and unique ideas.
Kids should bring their own lunch and water bottle. Snacks will be provided.
